Detectives from the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Lviv region documented an attempt to illegally transport tobacco products to the Republic of Poland.

It was established that residents of the Lviv region, a father and son, attempted to send almost 3,000 packs of cigarettes without excise tax stamps abroad. To do this, the smugglers used three drone-type aircraft.

During the inspection of the scene, cigarettes, 23 batteries for UAVs, a laptop, a remote control, flash drives with GPS routes, and other equipment used for smuggling were seized.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Operational support is being provided by officers of the 7th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The proceedings are being supervised by prosecutors from the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
