Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Odesa region exposed a scheme of illegal manufacture, storage and sale of alcoholic beverages without excise stamps.

An Odessa resident organized the artisanal production of alcoholic beverages on the territory of a non-residential warehouse. He produced the so-called vodka in unsanitary conditions. He mixed alcohol and running water. Sold finished products on the local market.

Searches were conducted in the warehouse, retail outlets where the alcohol products were sold car and apartment where the suspect lived. More than 1 thousand bottles of finished products, more than 3 thousand empty 0.5 liter plastic bottles, draft records and cash received from the sale of products, canisters, watering cans, alcohol meters were found and seized. The total value of the seized goods is over UAH 100 thousand.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense stipulated by Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of selling excisable goods) is being conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Odesa region under the operational support of the Strategic investigations department of the National Police in Odesa region and the procedural guidance of the Odesa region Prosecutor's Office.
