Detectives of the Territorial Department Economic Security Bureau in Chernivtsi region exposed another scheme of illegal export of tobacco products to Romania.

At the checkpoint of one of the settlements of the Chernivtsi region together with the employees of the National Police a truck used to transport illegally manufactured tobacco products was discovered. Counterfeit boxes were hidden under construction materials.

During the inspection of the truck 122 boxes of illegally manufactured tobacco products were found - almost 100 thousand packs. According to the labels the cigarettes were manufactured in Moldova. The total value of the found tobacco products is over UAH 4 million. The illegally manufactured products and the car used for their illegal transportation were seized.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing and detectives are establishing the circle of people involved in the offense.

Procedural management in the case is carried out by the Chernivtsi regional Prosecutor's office.
