Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in the Chernivtsi region found a trailer filled with boxes of tobacco on the territory of the local depot.

Detectives conducted searches and seized 11 tons of tobacco worth UAH 6.7 million. The semi-trailer with the cargo was sealed, the property was seized.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing, the full range of persons involved in illegal activities and the origin of counterfeit goods are being established.

The pre-trial investigation on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Chernivtsi region, operative support is provided by employees of the SSU Department in Chernivtsi region, procedural management is carried out by the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office. We will remind, in 5 months of work, the interdepartmental group for combating the illegal circulation of excise goods seized more than 11 million packs of cigarettes.
