The ESBU in Kyiv stopped illegal production and sale of alcohol: equipment, raw materials, and finished products were seized

  Detectives from the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in Kyiv uncovered the illegal production and sale of counterfeit alcohol.

A group of individuals organized a scheme to manufacture and sell alcoholic beverages without the necessary permits. The counterfeit products were sold through retail outlets in the capital.

During authorized searches at the locations where illegal activities were carried out, detectives discovered and seized alcohol production equipment. They also seized nearly 13,900 liters of finished counterfeit products, 1,800 liters of raw ethyl alcohol, rough accounting records, mobile phones, and computer equipment containing evidence of illegal activity.

The estimated value of the seized items exceeds UAH 1.6 million.

A pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Part 1 of Article 209 and Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale, or transportation of excisable goods). The relevant forensic examinations have been ordered, and the circle of persons involved in organizing the illegal scheme is being established.
