The ESBU exposed a network of illegal gambling establishments in Odesa: 8 administrators will face trial

 Detectives from the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Odesa region have completed the pre-trial investigation against eight individuals who ensured the operation of illegal gambling establishments in Odesa.

During the pre-trial investigation, detectives established that the activity in the halls was coordinated by several organizers. They recruited young people aged 18 to 35 for the job. They were appointed as administrators and tasked with accepting bets, assisting clients, and conducting gambling games.

The illegal gambling establishments operated at several addresses: Akademika Filatova Street, Aeroportivska Street, and Yaroslava Mudroho Avenue. Access to the halls was restricted only to "verified" clients from a special database. The administrators informed them about promotions and bonuses, helped them top up their accounts, log into gaming systems, and select the type of gambling game.

During the searches, detectives seized cash, mobile phones, draft documentation, and over 5,000 units of computer equipment.

Additionally, four warehouse premises were discovered, where the individuals involved stored technical equipment and furniture to set up new halls. The total value of the seized property exceeds 61 million UAH.

To secure compensation for damages caused by the criminal offense, the seized property has been placed under arrest by the court.

The individuals involved have been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 203-2 (illegal activities involving the organization or conduct of gambling games, lotteries) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case has been sent to court.

Operational support was provided by employees of the SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) Department in the Odesa region. Procedural guidance is carried out by prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
