The ESBU in the Kyiv region ensured that a developer compensated over UAH 15 million in unpaid taxes

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region ensured that a local developer compensated over UAH 15 million in unpaid taxes.

The investigation established that the company was building multi-apartment buildings and selling real estate in the Kyiv region. However, its actual activities were hardly included in the reporting – the real volumes of work, expenses, and income were not reflected in the tax documents. In this manner, the developer generated substantial illegal profits and evaded paying taxes on a large scale.

The amount of damage caused to the state, exceeding UAH 15 million, is confirmed by the findings of a forensic economic examination.

Employees of the Territorial Office notified the developer of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (evasion of taxes, duties (mandatory payments)).

It is fundamentally important for the ESBU that every detected offense yields a specific financial result for the state. Compensation for damages is one of the key tools for de-shadowing the economy and returning resources that must work for the country's development. In total, since the beginning of the year, employees of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region have ensured the recovery of over UAH 265 million to the budget in criminal proceedings sent to court,' noted Vitaliy Perunin, head of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region.

During the pre-trial investigation, ESBU detectives ensured full compensation for the damages caused to the state. The funds have already been received by the budget. The criminal proceedings have been sent to court with a motion to release the suspect from criminal liability.
