Registered a firm for a "conversion" center—received a criminal record, a fine, and a two-year ban on managerial positions

 A court fined an Odesa resident who registered a fictitious grain wholesale company and banned him from holding managerial and financially responsible positions in state, municipal, and private institutions and enterprises for a specified period.

Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Odesa region found out that the details of the enterprises were used to minimize the tax burden. Through the agricultural company, non-cash funds were converted into cash for enterprises of the real sector of the economy.

In turn, the suspect in the criminal proceedings, after receiving a UAH 10,000 monetary reward, did not perform any functions at the enterprises. All documents were drawn up and signed by other individuals, the materials regarding whom are being investigated in a separate criminal proceeding.

The court found the man guilty of committing a criminal offense provided for by part 2 of article 205-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery of documents submitted for the state registration of a legal entity and physical persons-entrepreneurs).

The suspect was sentenced to a fine of UAH 136,000 with the deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the performance of organizational-executive and administrative-economic functions at enterprises, institutions, and organizations of all forms of ownership for a period of 2 years.
