Regarding the inspection of NABU employees' vehicles by an ESBU officer

 In connection with the information released by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos regarding the inspection of NABU employees' vehicles by an ESBU staff member via the «Safe City» system, we provide the following update.

The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine acts strictly within the powers defined by law. Inspections of vehicles near the ESBU administrative buildings may be conducted by the Internal Security Department. These actions are purely preventive in nature and are designed to ensure the safety of employees and the proper functioning of the agency.

It has been established that the specific inspection of the NABU vehicle was conducted due to its presence near an ESBU administrative building.

The individual in question is no longer employed by the ESBU. An internal investigation has been launched regarding this fact, and an inquiry into all circumstances is currently underway.
