Products for electronic cigarettes worth 12.6 million UAH: ESBU exposed an underground sales scheme in the Lviv region

 Nearly 79 thousand units of illegal products for electronic cigarettes worth over 12.6 million UAH were seized in Lviv. The illegal circulation of excisable goods was exposed by detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Lviv region, who conducted a series of searches and seized the products.

The investigation established that the suspects carried out the circulation of products for electronic cigarettes without excise tax stamps of the established pattern—flavorings, POD systems, cartridges, nicotine, glycerins, and other related goods.

Within the framework of the investigation, detectives conducted 8 searches. They seized nearly 79 thousand units of products with an estimated value of over 12.6 million UAH.

The pretrial investigation is carried out under Part 1 of Article 204 (illegal manufacturing, storage, sale, or transportation for sale of excisable goods) and Part 1 of Article 199 (illegal manufacturing, forging, use, or sale of control stamps, excise tax stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Procedural guidance is carried out by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. Operational support – the Department of the SSU in the Lviv region.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
