Mobile phones, vapes, and perfumes: ESBU exposes large-scale smuggling in the Lviv region

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Lviv region have submitted an indictment to the court in a criminal proceeding regarding the smuggling of mobile phones, e-cigarette liquids, and perfumes. Their total value is nearly UAH 30 million.

The investigation established that a local resident illegally transported the goods across the «Dolhobychuv–Uhryniv» international checkpoint on the Lviv customs border, concealing them from customs control.

The illegally imported products included mobile phones from world-renowned brands and perfumery products, with a combined total value of nearly UAH 17 million.

In addition, law enforcement officers documented a separate instance of illegal transportation of e-cigarette liquids, concealed from customs control, valued at UAH 13 million.

The suspect has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 201-3 and Part 2 of Article 201-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal movement of goods across the customs border of Ukraine with concealment from customs control, as well as failure to declare them or providing deliberately false information to customs authorities). The indictment has been submitted to the court.
