Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region served a notice of suspicion to a company director for attempting to illegally transport goods across the customs border.
The investigation established that through the «Chop (Tysa)» checkpoint of the Zakarpattia Customs, the suspect attempted to import 2,226 packages of Italian-made medical drugs into Ukraine, concealing them from customs control in addition to the declared goods.
The total value of the seized smuggled goods is UAH 9,499,541.
The company director was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 15 and Part 1 of Art. 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—attempted smuggling, specifically the transportation of goods in significant quantities across the customs border of Ukraine while concealing them from customs control.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Procedural oversight is conducted by the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
