Analysts of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in the Kyiv region anticipated the waste of about UAH 5 million from the local budget during the tender for the purchase of generators.

Based on the results of the information and analytical work employees of the Territorial Department established that the officials of one of the structural divisions of the local government concluded an agreement for the purchase of 16 diesel generators without using the "Prozorro" system.

Officials planned to spend about UAH 5 million on this.

Bureau specialists analyzed the market prices and found out that the purchase price is significantly overstated. In addition it was established that the company chosen by the customer does not specialize in the supply of generators and does not have experience in executing similar orders.

Analysts of the Territorial Department recommended the local self-government body to review the decision on the purchase of goods.

Thanks to the measures taken the customer terminated the contract with the supplier. In this way employees of the ESBU prevented the embezzlement of UAH 5 million from the local budget.
