Employees of the Economic Security Bureau of  Ukraine conduct a study visit to Lithuania.  A four-person Ukrainian delegation - analysts and detectives - went at the invitation of the State Tax Inspectorate (STI) under the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania.  The goal is to study the institutional formation of the bodies, the specifics of information exchange between them, regulatory and legal regulation, the experience of European integration, learn from the experience of investigating international crimes and exchange professional experience for more effective work of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine.

During this week, there will be meetings of ESBU  employees with representatives of the Lithuanian Customs, Tax and Financial Crimes Investigation Service, practical classes and professional discussions on combating economic crimes in the tax and customs spheres, combating financial fraud, economic cybercrime, and laundering of funds obtained through criminal means.

"This is the first of many trips that we agreed on in Vilnius during the signing of memorandums on strategic partnership and cooperation in the field of economic security with the Financial Crimes Investigation Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania and the State Revenue Service  of the Republic of Latvia.

The result of the study trip will be the implementation of the best European work methods and practices by the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine. As well as working out for future joint investigations of economic crimes, first of all, regarding the search and seizure of the assets of the country - the aggressor", commented ESBU Director Vadym Melnyk.
