The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine is interested in securing a permanent expert on financial investigations within the framework of the EU Program for the Support of Public Finance Management in Ukraine (EU4PFM), assistance in adapting the legal framework to European models, as well as in the development of a methodological base on virtual assets and electronic commerce.
This was stated by the Director of ESBU, Vadym Melnyk, during the ninth meeting of the Steering Committee of the EU Program for the Support of Public Finance Management in Ukraine (EU4PFM), which took place on July 12.
"The ESBU as a newly created body is interested in effective institutional development, in particular, within the framework of the EU4PFM program. Today, the Bureau is working on a development strategy for 2022-2027. This strategy will be shared with European partners representing the EU4PFM programme. It is important for ESBU that EU4PFM as a partner decides on the directions of aid," Vadym Melnyk said.
As of today, preliminary agreements have been reached regarding further joint actions of the ESBU and EU4PFM until the end of 2022, the processes for the technical involvement of the ESBU as a beneficiary of the program are ongoing. EU4PFM establishes the communication of the ESBU with specialists of law enforcement agencies of foreign countries and organizes activities for the management of the ESBU in issues of improving the body's structure, and provides recommendations for analysts, personnel and lawyers of the Bureau.

EU4PFM is a program of the European Union, the purpose of which is to improve public finance management (PFM) in Ukraine and, as a result, to improve the provision of public services and the business climate. The goals of the Program are to support the further development of a modern, efficient and fair system of revenue collection and to support the relevant PFM institutions in improving their organizational capabilities.
