Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine Vadym Melnyk stated this on February 18, 2022, during the Eighth meeting of the Program Steering Committee.
"As a newly created body, the Bureau is interested in effective institutional development, building up personnel potential. At the same time, the development of the IT infrastructure remains a priority, because ESBU is an analytical body, not a force. Thanks to special software products for the needs of the analytical unit and the detective unit, we will be able to bring the fight against criminal manifestations in the economy of Ukraine to a qualitatively new level. We hope for fruitful cooperation with international partners, in particular EU4PFM, in these directions of the development of the Bureau", Vadym Melnyk emphasized.
During the event, the participants discussed the main priorities in joint work for 2022, plans and expectations from the implementation of the Program.
In particular, ESBU and EU4PFM plan to continue training for the Bureau's analysts and detectives.
We would like to remind you that within the framework of cooperation between the ESBU and the EU4PFM Program, training by international experts for the Bureau's analysts and detectives was initiated. The first training was devoted to law enforcement activities driven by analytics in EU countries.
For reference:
The goal of the EU4PFM program is to improve the management of public finances in Ukraine and, as a result, to improve the provision of public services and the business climate.
The Steering Committee of the Program includes representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Accounting Chamber, the State Customs Service, the State Tax Service, the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine and international partners.
