Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau in the Poltava region completed a judicial investigation into the illegal sale and sale of counterfeit cigarettes in Dnipro. 127,000 packs of cigarettes were seized from the suspect.

The investigation established a resident who in October 2023 purchased illegally manufactured tobacco products for their further sale. The goods were sold with a markup at retail in the central market of the city.

During the authorized searches, detectives seized 127,000 packs of cigarettes without excise tax stamps from the accused, with an estimated value of UAH 5 million. The seized property has been seized.

Currently, the materials of the pre-trial investigation with the indictment have been sent to the court.

The man faces punishment in the form of a fine of five to ten thousand unpaid national minimums with confiscation and destruction of illegally produced goods.
