The detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in Zakarpattia region completed a pre-trial investigation into the fact of transporting illegally manufactured tobacco products across the state border.

Earlier, in the territory of the Tyachiv district, law enforcement officers discovered the place where an unmanned aerial vehicle with tobacco products was launched. It was planned to send them to Romania.

A car with Polish registration and another unmanned aerial vehicle were also discovered nearby.

The investigation established that the transportation of illegally produced cigarettes was organized by a resident of the Zakarpattia region. For this, he used self-made unmanned aerial vehicles.

Bureau detectives seized two drones, a UAV launcher, batteries, a laptop, as well as 1,260 packs of tobacco products without excise tax stamps.

During the pre-trial investigation, the suspect fully admitted his guilt and entered into a plea agreement. He is currently facing a fine of UAH 95,000.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Zakarpattia region. Prosecutors of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office are in charge of the proceedings.
