Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Chernivtsi region exposed two Bukovina residents who bought and stored counterfeit alcoholic beverages, alcohol and cigarettes and then sold them on local markets and in their own homes.

As a result of the searches, the Territorial Department found and seized more than 3,000 litres of illegally produced alcoholic beverages, more than 750 litres of alcohol and about 50,000 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps.

The total estimated value of the seized goods is over UAH 3.8 million.

The pre-trial investigation under Part 1 Art. 199, Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Chernivtsi region.

The procedural supervision is provided by the Chernivtsi Region Prosecutor's Office.
