Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Zakarpattia region exposed a resident of the Tyachiv district who was selling counterfeit tobacco products.

During inspections of the place of residence of the suspect and his vehicle the detectives of the ESBU seized more than 25,000 packs of cigarettes without excise tax stamps. Their estimated cost is more than UAH 2 million.

The pre-trial investigation on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine continues. The issue of seizure of property is being resolved.

Investigative actions were carried out together with the employees of the SSU in the Zakarpattia region and the USR in the Zakarpattia region of the DSR of the National Police. Prosecutors of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office are in charge of the proceedings.
