Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Volyn region have completed a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal production and sale of fuel.

The investigation established that during January - July 2023, an employee of one of Lutsk's oil depots having free access to production facilities, illegally manufactured fuel.

To do this the man purchased raw materials using equipment to mix A-95 gasoline with low-octane gasoline. The counterfeit was sold much cheaper. In general he produced about 40,000 liters of fuel in this way.

In addition the employees of the analytical unit of the Territorial Department established that the suspect legalized the funds he received from the sale of counterfeit fuel.

At present the employee of the oil depot has been notified of suspicion under Part 1, Part 2 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, purchase and sale of illegally manufactured excise goods) and part 1 of Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (legalization of proceeds obtained through crime). The indictment was sent to the court.
