Detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in the Volyn region established the fact of the waste of state grain in particularly large amounts.

Investigators found that an employee of a grain storage facility of a state-owned joint-stock company illegally sold wheat without the knowledge of his superiors.

In particular, the suspect arbitrarily shipped grain of the 2021 harvest for the benefit of certain individuals. In this way, more than 200 tons with an estimated cost of UAH 1.3 million were wasted. This grain was accounted for in the balance and was in responsible storage. By abusing his official position the person caused property damage to the state enterprise.

The person was served a notice of suspicion under Part 5 Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office). The issue of choosing a type of detention is being decided.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the TD ESBU in Volyn region under the procedural supervision of the Volyn regional Prosecutor's office.

Recently, analysts of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine identified and prevented the risk of illegal VAT refunds worth almost UAH 54 million to a private enterprise in Kharkiv region that exported agricultural products. While analyzing the company's business activities, the employeers of the ESBU found agricultural products of unknown origin. Grain crops were purchased for cash from farmers and their purchase from transit companies was documented.
