Detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Chernivtsi region seized counterfeit alcoholic beverages from illicit trafficking. The products were sold without excise tax stamps.

The place of accumulation of counterfeit products was established. The offender sold alcohol on the market and through classifieds and sent vodka by delivery services.

Employees of the Territorial Department conducted a series of searches at the addresses of storage and sale of illegally manufactured products. More than 800 bag in boxes of 10 liters each without excise tax stamps were found and seized from illicit trafficking. The total value of the seized goods is over UAH 700 thousand.

All the circumstances of the crime and the source of the counterfeit are being established.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding on the grounds of a criminal offense under Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation with intent to sell excisable goods) is being conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Chernivtsi region under the procedural supervision of the Chernivtsi regional prosecutor's office.

Recently, detectives of the Economic Security Bureau exposed a group of people who set up a scheme for the illegal production and sale of counterfeit alcoholic beverages in Lviv region.
