Detectives of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine exposed a group of people who organized a scheme of illegal production and sale of counterfeit alcoholic beverages in the Lviv region.

The underground production of vodka and cognac was set up in the Lviv region on a private plot belonging to one of the members of the group. The organizers of the illegal scheme stuck fake excise stamps on the bottles and sold the goods in the shadow sector.

During the searches, more than 400 liters of finished counterfeit products were seized. Food flavorings, counterfeit excise stamps, packaging and bottling equipment. In addition, almost UAH 1.3 million draft accounting documents and mobile communication devices were discovered and seized.

Currently the establishment of all the circumstances of the crime and the source of the counterfeit is underway.

The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 1 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of the Lviv regional prosecutor's office and operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.

It will be recalled that recently detectives of the ESBU reported suspicion of members of an organized criminal group that sold illegally produced alcoholic beverages in the south of Odesa.
