ESBU in the Kyiv region exposes a large-scale illegal alcohol production scheme

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Kyiv region have served a notice of suspicion to an entrepreneur for the illegal manufacture and sale of counterfeit alcoholic beverages.

The investigation established that the organizer rented warehouse premises in Ternopil, where he set up a full technological cycle for the production of counterfeit goods. The finished products were poured into 5- and 10-liter plastic containers, as well as "bag-in-box" packaging and glass bottles under the guise of world-famous brands.

The distribution of the surrogate alcohol occurred in large batches through established sales channels, internet platforms, and messengers throughout Ukraine.

During the investigative actions, large volumes of ethyl alcohol and prepared mixtures for the manufacture of counterfeit products were seized.

Additionally, detectives discovered significant batches of illegally manufactured alcoholic beverages that had already been bottled and prepared for sale.

In addition, industrial production equipment and many labels from famous brands were seized. Furthermore, "rough" accounting records, mobile phones, and computer equipment were recovered, confirming the large-scale volume of product sales.

The suspect has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Parts 1 and 2 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, and sale of excisable goods). The issue of selecting a preventive measure for the organizer is currently being decided. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the full circle of involved individuals is being established.
