Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Chernivtsi region exposed a local resident who organized the sale of illegally manufactured tobacco products.

As a result of a search in a commercial premises on the territory of the Kalynivka market the employees of the ESBU seized more than 20 thousand packs of cigarettes without excise stamps.

The estimated value of the seized goods is over UAH 1.8 million.

The investigative actions are ongoing, the full range of persons involved in the illegal activity and the origin of the counterfeit goods are being established.

The pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceedings is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Chernivtsi region, operational support is provided by the SSU Office in Chernivtsi region and the State Secret Service of Ukraine's Internal Affairs Department in Chernivtsi region and the Chernivtsi Region Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the procedural supervision.
