Detectives of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine exposed a citizen of Ukraine in tax evasion, mandatory customs payments in particularly large amounts during the importation of equipment.
During the customs clearance of agricultural, cargo and self-propelled vehicles that were imported into the territory of Ukraine and cleared at customs in the area of activity of the Rivne customs office, the entrepreneur submitted inaccurate information.
In the documents submitted to the customs authority, the years of production of the imported equipment and, accordingly, its value were underestimated. In reality, the technology turned out to be much newer. As a result of such actions, the budget suffered losses in the amount of more than UAH 16 million.
Detectives of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine conducted a number of authorized searches of office premises, units of the Rivne Customs and residences of persons involved in criminal proceedings. According to the results of the searches, financial and business documentation, customs clearance documents and more than UAH 7 million in cash were seized.
The implementation of the illegal scheme would not be possible without the assistance of Rivne Customs officials. Currently, further investigative actions are being taken to establish the full range of persons involved in the crime.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the grounds of criminal offenses provided for in Part 3 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion, fees) are carried out by detectives of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office.
