Detectives of the Territorial Administration of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in Zakarpattia region completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted to the court an indictment in criminal proceedings regarding the acquisition and transportation for the purpose of sale of illegally manufactured tobacco products.

The investigation established that a citizen of Ukraine purchased 26,000 packs of illegally manufactured tobacco products without Ukrainian excise tax stamps.

In the future, he planned to sell counterfeit products on the territory of Mukachevo district Zakarpattia region but was stopped while transporting cigarettes.

Thus tobacco products with an estimated value of more than UAH 1.1 million did not enter the black market.

Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was carried out by the detectives of the TD ESBU in the Zakarpattia region under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Zakarpattia regional prosecutor's office.
