A utility company director in the Vinnytsia region is charged with misusing budgetary resources

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Vinnytsia region have referred criminal proceedings to the court regarding the misuse of budget funds.

The pre-trial investigation established that a utility enterprise of one of the territorial communities in the Vinnytsia region was allocated budget funds by a decision of the settlement council session for community improvement projects. However, the director used these funds for the enterprise's current needs, which were not envisaged by the program.

The amount of damage caused amounted to over UAH 2.6 million. The fact of the misuse of funds was confirmed by the findings of a forensic economic expert examination.

ESBU detectives have notified the suspect of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misuse of budget funds by an official on a large scale, committed repeatedly. The damages caused have been reimbursed to the budget in full).

The criminal proceedings have been referred to the court with an indictment. The suspect faces restriction of liberty for a term of two to five years or imprisonment for a term of two to six years, with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
