Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Kyiv region have secured the reimbursement of UAH 4.6 million in damages caused to the state budget by a mining company.
The investigation established that over a long period, the company's officials evaded the payment of rent for subsoil use for mineral extraction during their financial and economic activities. The enterprise intentionally failed to apply the correction factor for the extraction of sand and gravel materials within the waters of seas, reservoirs, rivers, and their floodplains.
The pre-trial investigation was initiated based on an analytical product compiled by specialists from the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region. The UAH 4.6 million in damages caused to the state was confirmed by the findings of a forensic economic expert examination.
The head of the enterprise was notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional evasion of taxes, duties (mandatory payments).
ESBU detectives ensured the company fully reimbursed the damages caused to the state. The funds have already been paid to the budget. The criminal proceedings against the suspect have been referred to the court with a motion to be released from criminal liability.
Procedural guidance is provided by prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
