Two traders of illegal vape liquids will stand trial in the Vinnytsia region

 In the Vinnytsia region, detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU stopped the activity of yet another set of illegal points of sale for electronic cigarette liquids. Two persons were notified of suspicion. The criminal proceedings have already been sent to court. In the course of the pretrial investigation, the suspects voluntarily transferred 130,000  UAH to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The investigation established that the illegal products were sold at retail outlets in the region without the necessary licenses or permits. During investigative actions in the stores, detectives seized nearly 2.5 thousand bottles with components for vaping—nicotine, glycerin, and flavorings.

Measures to stop the illegal trade of vape liquids in the Vinnytsia region are of a systemic nature—from closing illegal production to stopping the operation of their points of sale. In particular, during seven months of this year, ESBU detectives seized nearly 30 thousand containers with liquids for electronic cigarettes from illegal circulation.

The suspects in the case were notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for by Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition for the purpose of sale or storage, as well as sale of illegally manufactured excisable goods).

The criminal proceedings have been sent to court with indictments.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
