To be tried for illegal business involving electronic cigarettes

 An entrepreneur who resold illegally manufactured electronic cigarettes and liquids for them will stand trial. The man organized the sale of excisable products through a network of retail establishments in Odesa and the Odesa district.

During the pretrial investigation, detectives established that the suspect acted in prior conspiracy with another person. Together, they established the supply and sale of electronic cigarettes and liquids for them. The sale of excisable products was carried out without corresponding licenses and in violation of the requirements of the current legislation.

The illegal products were sold through four retail outlets located in Odesa and the village of Lymanka, Odesa district. The entrepreneur involved store employees in the sale of goods, who directly carried out the sale of electronic cigarettes to buyers for cash.

During the pretrial investigation, detectives documented the facts of the sale of illegally manufactured excisable products.

During an authorized search of one of the stores, 369 containers with liquids for electronic cigarettes and 80 electronic cigarettes that did not meet the requirements of the legislation regarding the circulation of excisable goods were seized.

The entrepreneur was notified of suspicion of illegal acquisition for the purpose of sale, storage, transportation, and sale of illegally manufactured excisable goods, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment has been forwarded to court.

During the pretrial investigation, the suspect directed 100,000 UAH for the needs of the AFU.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
