Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region have sent an indictment to the court regarding a suspect who established the illegal sale of tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, smoking liquids, and hookah tobacco.
The investigation established that the individual organized the supply of counterfeit tobacco products and sold them at retail outlets in the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions, as well as via social networks with delivery throughout Ukraine.
During sanctioned searches, ESBU detectives discovered and seized over 15,000 containers with liquids for electronic cigarettes, POD systems and cartridges with liquid for e-cigarettes, almost 2,000 packs of hookah tobacco, and disposable electronic tobacco devices. In addition, mobile terminals, draft records, computer equipment, and cash were seized.
The estimated value of the seized excisable goods is UAH 2.5 million.
The organizer of the illegal activity was served with a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal storage, sale, or transportation for the purpose of selling excisable goods). The indictment has been sent to court.
