The ESBU in the Lviv region prevented the embezzlement of UAH 8.6 million in international technical assistance

 Analysts from the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Lviv region, while monitoring public procurement, identified inflated prices for basic construction materials specified in the investor's estimate documentation and in the contract price.

The procurement concerned the construction of a shelter for one of the lyceums in the city of Lviv with a declared total cost of UAH 54.9 million. Part of the funds, for UAH 46.2 million, is financed within the framework of the Ukraine Facility initiative, in accordance with the Framework Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

The regional administration's experts sent a letter to the local government with recommendations to reduce the amount of contractual obligations under the contract.

The customer took the analysts' recommendations into account and decided to reduce the cost of the work. As a result of these actions, employees of the ESBU prevented the waste of UAH 8.6 million in international technical assistance.
