The ESBU in Kyiv shut down a network involved in the illegal sale of electronic cigarettes: counterfeit goods worth over UAH 8.5 million were seized

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Kyiv exposed the activities of an organized group that stored and sold illegally manufactured electronic cigarettes and liquids for them.

The investigation established that the aforementioned individuals sold excise goods without any permits or licenses. The e-cigarettes were sold through a network of retail outlets in the city of Kyiv.

Detectives from the regional office conducted 11 authorized searches of commercial premises and seized a variety of counterfeit products. The total value of the seized goods is estimated at UAH 8.5 million.

A series of forensic examinations have been scheduled. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the full circle of persons involved in organizing and administering the illegal activity is being established.

The proceedings are being supervised by prosecutors from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
