Detectives from the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Kyiv region secured compensation of over UAH 6.7 million for losses incurred by the state budget due to one of the companies.
The investigation established that the company had deliberately evaded paying value-added tax over a long period. The company provided road repair and building reconstruction services to state and municipal institutions. However, after receiving budget funds, officials did not reflect business transactions in tax reports. The amount of damage caused to the state amounted to over UAH 6.7 million.
The Bureau's employees notified the head of the enterprise of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion).
The detectives of the ESBU ensured that the company compensated the state for the losses incurred in full. The funds have already been paid to the budget. The criminal proceedings have been referred to the court with a motion for exemption from criminal liability.
The proceedings were supervised by prosecutors from the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
