The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The document envisages the introduction of modern IT tools to improve the efficiency of the ESBU, the development of cooperation to prevent offenses that infringe on the functioning of the state's economy, and the joint monitoring of the procurement of UAVs for the needs of the security and defense forces of Ukraine.
According to Acting Director of the ESBU Serhii Perkhun, this partnership will not only contribute to the development of both institutions, but also increase the level of transparency of public procurement.
“The experience of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in digitalization and implementation of software means new opportunities and tools for analyzing information in the ESBU's investigations, the use of which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the ESBU's efficiency,” said Serhii Perkhun.
In his turn, Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, emphasized that it is important for the Ministry of Digital Transformation to be transparent and accountable in every project. Especially in the field of public procurement.
“Joining forces with the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in monitoring the procurement process will help to proactively respond to and prevent possible offenses. We already have experience of positive cooperation in this area. The ESBU will also join the monitoring of grants that Ukrainian producers receive from the Brave1 cluster. Our goal is to be effective, transparent and reliable partners,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.
During the signing of the memorandum, the parties also discussed promising areas of cooperation in building the Unified Information System of the ESBU, the creation of which is provided for by law.
The UIS should become a key tool for identifying and assessing risks and threats to the economic security of the state by analyzing large amounts of data. The system will accelerate and increase the efficiency of drawing up analytical conclusions and recommendations. It will also help in forecasting negative phenomena in the economy.
