Detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Zakarpattia region served a notice of suspicion to a resident of Zakarpattia region for illegal sale of tobacco products without excise stamps.

During the pre-trial investigation it was established that the local resident bought and transported illegally manufactured tobacco products without excise stamps of Ukraine. Subsequently the counterfeit products were sold in Zakarpattia region.

As a result of the searches, 27,500 packs of illegally manufactured tobacco products without excise stamps of Ukraine were found and seized. Their estimated value is about UAH 1 million. The case has been referred to court.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense stipulated by Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition, storage and sale of excisable goods committed by a group of persons) initiated by the Main operational and investigation department of the 27th Border detachment of the State border guard service of Ukraine was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Zakarpattia region under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Zakarpattia regional Prosecutor's Office.
