Representatives of the Economic Security Bureau joined IT Arena – a global technology event held annually in Lviv on the last weekend of September.
The event brings together more than 6,000 participants from 40 countries. One of the topics discussed was economic security as the foundation for Ukraine’s recovery.
In his speech, Director of the ESBU Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi explained why economic security is the cornerstone of rebuilding and restoring trust in Ukraine, what the Economic Security Bureau is, and how to build a system where business can invest and grow without fear of corruption or the shadow sector.
“Today the ESBU is about equal conditions for doing business, safe investments, and a stable economy. To achieve this, we are already shifting our priorities. The focus is on analytics – working with big data and looking at the economy in a macro format. This will make it possible to identify where problems exist in a given sector and, accordingly, concentrate efforts on preventing offences,” Tsyvinskyi noted.
The Director of the Bureau also emphasised that his main goal is to ensure that paying taxes becomes beneficial for everyone.
