Rejected favorable offers and increased the price: an official of a medical institution was notified of suspicion in Zakarpattia

 Over 5 million UAH of material damage was caused to a municipal medical institution in Zakarpattia as a result of abuses during the procurement of electricity. The head of the public procurement department of the enterprise is involved in the violations.

The circumstances of the offense were established by detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region.

The investigation established that during the procurement of electricity for the needs of the medical institution, economically favorable offers were groundlessly rejected. At the same time, a price change indicator was applied in the direction of increase. The combination of these actions led to causing damages to the enterprise of over 5 million UAH.

Currently, detectives notified the head of the public procurement department of suspicion of abuse of official position that caused severe consequences. Her actions have been qualified under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pretrial investigation is ongoing.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
