In the Lviv region, a scheme for the illegal import of cars under the guise of charitable aid was exposed. Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Lviv region completed the pretrial investigation and sent the indictment to court regarding the organizer of the smuggling scheme.
The investigation established that the man registered a legal entity using documents with knowingly false information and used it for the illegal import of vehicles.
The suspect purchased 5 cars abroad and imported them into Ukraine under the guise of charitable aid to avoid proper customs control. The total value of the vehicles amounts to 1,392,370 UAH.
The actions of the accused are qualified under Part 1 of Article 201-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (smuggling of excisable goods).
Procedural guidance is carried out by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. Operational support was provided by the 7th Border Guard Carpathian Detachment of the SBGS.
As a reminder, recently the Director of the ESBU, Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi, announced on his Telegram channel that detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Lviv region sent an indictment to court regarding the organizer of a scheme for importing cars into Ukraine that were registered as charitable aid.
