In Zakarpattia, ESBU detectives ensured the reimbursement of UAH 8.2 million to the budget

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region have completed a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings regarding tax evasion. The damages caused to the state have been reimbursed in full.

The investigation established that the head of an enterprise engaged in the wholesale trade of consumer goods evaded taxes between 2020 and 2021. Specifically, he failed to reflect a portion of the income received in tax and accounting reports.

As a result, tax liabilities for corporate income tax and value-added tax (VAT) were understated.

The damages totaled UAH 8.2 million.

The suspect was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional tax evasion on an especially large scale).

During the pre-trial investigation, the damages caused to the state were reimbursed in full. In view of this, a petition was sent to the court to release the individual from criminal liability.
