Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Zakarpattia region sent to court an indictment against a citizen of Ukraine who purchased and transported illegally manufactured tobacco products without excise stamps for sale.

The investigation established that in October 2023, the man purchased illegally manufactured tobacco products and tried to transport them through a checkpoint. The driver equipped the car with special compartments to hide the counterfeit cigarettes from customs control. The suspect planned to sell them in the territory of the European Union.

The criminal was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment was sent to court.

Procedural supervision was carried out by prosecutors of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.
