"Fish" scheme for 15 million UAH: ESBU detectives ensure full restitution of damages

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Poltava region have ensured the recovery of over UAH 15 million in unpaid taxes to the state budget. The case concerns a Poltava-based enterprise specializing in food production.

According to the investigation, the company's chief accountant entered false information into tax reports and failed to fully reflect the enterprise's income in the corporate income tax declaration for 2025.

As a result of these actions, the budget failed to receive over UAH 15 million in taxes.

The suspect has been notified of suspicion under Part 3, Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional tax evasion on an especially large scale).

The criminal proceedings were initiated based on an analytical product and materials provided by detectives from the strategic economic protection unit of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Poltava region.

During the pre-trial investigation, the damages caused to the state were fully reimbursed.

The case has been sent to court with a motion to release the suspect from criminal liability.

Procedural oversight is being carried out by the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office.

In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven through a legal process and established by a court verdict.
