Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Zakarpattia region exposed and stopped the activities of a number of illegal gambling facilities that provided gambling services in Zakarpattia region.

Currently 5 persons involved in the criminal proceedings have been served a notice of suspicion.

The investigation established that illegal gambling clubs were mostly located on the first floors of residential buildings and operated around the clock. At the same time their organizers did not register legal entities did not have the necessary licenses and permits and did not pay taxes.

As a result of searches at the addresses of the gambling halls detectives seized material evidence of illegal activity: more than 30 sets of computer equipment, video cameras, mobile phones, cash, draft records, etc.

At present 5 offenders were served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 Art. 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Operational support is provided by the SSU office in Zakarpattia region.

Procedural supervision is provided by prosecutors of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office.

If proven guilty the suspects face a fine of UAH 850,000 with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of three years.
