ESBU is building cooperation with the Judiciary Police of the Portuguese Republic
posted 02 September 2022 16:30

The issues of bilateral cooperation between the ESBU and the Judiciary Police of the Portuguese Republic and exchange of experience in conducting joint investigations of economic crimes were discussed during the meeting of Anatoly Alexandrov, Head of the ESBU International Cooperation Division, with the management of the Judiciary Police of the Portuguese Republic in the city of Lisbon.

"Transformation and constant evolution of crimes and the tools used by the criminal world require us to act ahead of the curve. Most of the schemes related to violations brought under the jurisdiction of the Bureau can be detected and efficiently investigated only in international cooperation. The Bureau should form a powerful network of partner contacts and support. The arrangement to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the Judiciary Police provides us with additional opportunities," Anatoly Aleksandrov emphasized.

He also added that the current security economic model needs to be improved and transformed due to new risks and challenges of war. Anatoly Aleksandrov is currently participating as an invited speaker at the Estoril Conferences international conference in Portugal. It is an international platform that has been held since 2009 in Cascais, Portugal.

Nobel laureates, current and former heads of states, scientists and opinion leaders take part in the conference. This year's conference was devoted to global challenges and the latest solutions to overcome them. Considerable attention was paid to the issue of conflicts, in particular to the current open armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
