Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi, Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, stated in an interview with Censor.NET that the Bureau's primary goal is to shift large financial flows from the shadows back into the legal economy. Concurrently, the Bureau aims to transform into a modern analytical agency.
According to the ESBU Director, this can be achieved through staff renewal, the use of advanced analytics and operational tools, and the construction of a new economic security system.
Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi also identified the independence of the ESBU as a key condition for combating economic crimes. The special status, provided for by the EU Roadmap, is intended to strengthen the agency's capacity and increase its effectiveness in the long term.
He also noted that rebooting the Bureau is a necessary step to create an effective analytical body with a law enforcement function and to form a team that works for results rather than by inertia.
