Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Zakarpattia region have completed a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings over tax evasion in large amounts. The entire amount of unpaid value added tax has already been compensated to the budget.

The investigation established that the director of a company engaged in fuel retailing in Zakarpattia region failed to file a VAT return with the supervisory authority. Such actions led to the evasion of UAH 5 million in taxes.

The pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceeding for committing an offense under Part 1 Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Tax evasion, duties (mandatory payments)) was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Zakarpattia region with the assistance of the Main department of the State Tax Service in Zakarpattia region and the procedural guidance of the Zakarpattia regional Prosecutor's Office.

Recently, detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Lviv region completed a pre-trial investigation into tax evasion by a company engaged in livestock processing and food production.
