Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Zakarpattia region exposed an entrepreneur from Vynohradiv who had a license to retail tobacco products but sold counterfeit goods instead of officially produced ones.

As a result of searches at his place of work and inspection of his vehicle the detectives of the ESBU seized more than 8 thousand packs of cigarettes without excise stamps. The estimated value of the tobacco products is over half a million hryvnias.

The pre-trial investigation on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is ongoing. The issue of seizure of property is being decided.

The investigation was conducted jointly with the border guards of the 27th Border Guard Detachment named after the Heroes of the Carpathian Sich of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and with the involvement of the Patrol Police in Zakarpattia region.
