Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Volyn region have established the fact of embezzlement of state grain in particularly large amounts.

The investigation established that an employee of a grain storage facility of a state joint-stock company illegally sold wheat without the knowledge of his management.

In particular the suspect illegally shipped grain harvested in 2021 in favor of third parties. In this way he embezzled more than 200 tons with an estimated value of UAH 1.3 million. This grain was accounted for as residuals and was kept in safekeeping. By abusing his official position the person caused property damage to the state enterprise.

The suspect was served a notice of suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office).

The criminal proceeding was forwarded to the court with the indictment.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Volyn region under the supervision of the Volyn region Prosecutor's Office.
